McKayla Babcock
About Me:
I graduated this past May with my Master's in Social Work from Aurora University. I am currently working at Alden Hebron Middle School and High School as their School Social Worker. I am currently living in Huntley. I have a three-year-old cattle dog named Milo!
COACHING PHILOSOPHY:
As a volleyball coach, my goal is to help athletes grow not only as players but also as people. I believe in creating a positive, competitive environment where athletes feel supported, challenged, and motivated to give their best every day. My focus is on effort, teamwork, and continual improvement, emphasizing that success comes from consistent hard work, communication, and respect for the game and each other.
As a coach, I aim to create a learning environment that is structured, positive, and competitive. Every athlete, regardless of skill level, deserves to feel seen, supported, and challenged to reach their potential. I also believe mental health matters just as much as performance. I want my players to feel comfortable being themselves, to build confidence through challenges, and to know that their worth goes beyond the scoreboard. I hope that they leave the program loving the game and believing in their ability to succeed both on and off the court.
PLAYING EXPERIENCE:
I grew up playing volleyball throughout my childhood, starting when I was 9 years old. I played for Huntley High School and then played in college at McHenry County College. I have been playing in indoor recreational leagues in the area, as well as playing sand volleyball!
COACHING HISTORY:
I have been coaching club volleyball for the past 5 years, working with players from 6 years old all the way up to 15 years old. This year was my first year coaching for a school at Prairie Ridge High School as their Freshman Head Coach.
