Mission Tryout Checklist
1. Create a Crossbar Account
- If this is your first time using Crossbar, click HERE.
- Note: The Crossbar account must be created and owned by an adult (parent/guardian).
2. USAV Tryout Membership
- All athletes must have a current USAV membership to participate.
- If your athlete played for a USAV-sanctioned club during the 2024–2025 season, their membership is expired.

3. Register for the Correct Age Group
- Athletes typically register for the age group that matches the grade they will be entering this fall.
- If you're unsure, contact us—we're happy to help place your athlete in the correct division. Contact staff@missionvb.com
Tryout FAQs
Q: When do we have to commit?
A: Athletes will receive their offer within 24 hours of tryouts. We ask for commitments within 24 hours to finalize rosters and begin planning for the season.
Q: What time should we arrive at tryouts?
A: Please arrive 15 minutes early for check-in and warm-up. Tryouts will begin promptly at the scheduled time.
Q: What should we bring to the tryout?
A: Bring water, athletic shoes, kneepads, and a positive attitude. We'll provide the rest!
Q: Can parents stay at the tryout?
A: Parents are welcome to stay in the designated viewing area but are not allowed on the courts.
Q: What happens at the tryout?
A: Athletes will be evaluated in all key skill areas, as well as communication, hustle, and coachability. Scrimmage play is included to assess game instincts and teamwork.
Q: Is there a make-up tryout date?
A: Yes. If your athlete cannot attend the scheduled tryout, contact us to arrange a private or small group make-up evaluation.
