Information for Athletes and Families
Top 20 Lists
Players should create of list of 20 schools they are interested in.
Criteria for picking:
It has your field of study.
You would be happy going there if volleyball wasn't in the picture.
Fits the level of play you desire to play at.
School Visits
Visits are an important part of the decision making process. However, coaches can take part in having you on campus for a visit until September 1st of your junior year. After that they can invite you for Unofficial and Official visits.
Introductory Email
Send an email to programs you have interest in. Be sure to address the coach by their name. As well as include your name, height, metrics, position, grad year, high school and club in your email.
Game Footage
It is important to have film of you playing.
Filming: View is from the middle of the service line. Edit out dead time (time in-between plays), as well as identify what number your are.
Highlight Video: Can be made by using Editing software or via HUDL.
Social Media
Create volleyball only social media accounts (instagram, X, TikTok & etc) that you can post highlights and updates to for coaches to follow.
University Athlete
This is a free platform used by college coaches to locate players for scouting purposes at tournaments.
NCAA Clearing House
This is used to determine if athletes eligible for College Athletics.
