Beach Volleyball
Beach Volleyball is the perfect way for athletes to improve their all-around game while enjoying the sun and sand. With only two players per side, beach volleyball challenges athletes to develop every skill — from passing and setting to attacking and serving. It builds mental toughness, quick decision-making, and exceptional conditioning. At Mission, our beach program is designed to be competitive, fun, and a great complement to indoor training. Whether you're new to the sand or looking to sharpen your game, beach volleyball offers a dynamic and rewarding experience.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need prior beach volleyball experience to join?
Not at all! Our beach program welcomes athletes of all levels — from beginners to experienced indoor players looking to improve their all-around game.
How is beach volleyball different from indoor volleyball?
Beach is played 2-on-2, which means players get to touch the ball more often and develop every skill. It also emphasizes movement, ball control, and strategic play — all while training in the sand, which builds strength and endurance.
What age groups do you offer beach training for?
We offer training for a variety of age groups, typically from 12U through 18U. Athletes are grouped by age and skill level to ensure competitive and fun sessions.
Who are the coaches for the beach program?
Our beach coaching staff includes Lucas Yanez (UIC), Grace Hinchman, and Beatrice Carulli — all with extensive experience in both indoor and beach volleyball.
What should I bring to training?
Athletes should bring plenty of water, sunglasses, sunscreen, a towel, and athletic wear appropriate for the sand (no shoes needed). We recommend wearing sand socks if the sand is hot.
Where are beach practices held?
Beach sessions are held at Mission, offering a great environment to train and compete in the sand.
Can I play beach and still do indoor volleyball?
Yes! In fact, beach volleyball is a great complement to indoor training. It helps players improve ball control, court awareness, and overall athleticism.
Do you offer beach tournaments or competitive play?
Yes — depending on the session and interest, we will offer opportunities for scrimmages and competitive play, including tournament recommendations and pairings.
