Lucas Yanez

BIO
A standout student-athlete at Lewis University, Yanez played a crucial role in helping the Flyers achieve the title of National Runner-Up at the 2015 NCAA Division I men’s volleyball tournament. In that same season, Yanez received the honor of being named 2nd Team All-American by two respected sources. Furthermore, he was recognized as a First Team All-Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association member in 2015, following his Second Team selection in 2014. Yanez's exceptional skills were acknowledged with two MIVA Player of the Week awards and he was also named the 2015 MIVA Preseason Libero of the Year.
With coaching experience spanning various locations in the United States, Yanez has contributed his expertise to the teams at UIC (from 2021), University of Miami (from 2018-2020), Coastal Carolina (from 2016-17), and Kansas (from 2015-16). His coaching tenure saw successful runs in the NCAA Tournament with UIC, Coastal Carolina, and Kansas, with the Jayhawks achieving a remarkable second place in the Big 12 and a No. 4 ranking in the final AVCA Coaches Poll in 2015, culminating in a semifinal appearance at the NCAA championships.
